Visit the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary on this 2 Days (1 Night) trip. Surrounded by the peaceful waters of Lake Victoria, Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is home to over 48 orphaned chimps rescued from throughout Uganda. This trip offers an opportunity to overnight visitors an exceptional opportunity to closely observe and interact with fascinating great apes
PROGRAM
Day 1: Entebbe – Ngamba Islands
Early morning head to Entebbe followed by a transfer to Ngamba Islands by a speed boat in just 45 minutes. Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary, under management of Jane Goodall Institute is located on Lake Victoria and forms part of the Koome archipelago, a group of 15 islands and islets separated from Lake Victoria by the 10km-wide Ddamba Channel. Ngamba was established in 1998 with an aim of creating a natural environment for the care and rehabilitation of 19 orphaned chimps from UWEC (Uganda Wildlife Education Centre). You will reach in time for feeding the Chimpanzee you will get an opportunity to feed the chimps. Diana and sleep at Ngamba Island Tented Camp.Day 2: Forest Walk
We go for the most exciting activity on the island, the forest walk where you will interact with the juvenile group. With this walk you get to really interact with the chimps and discover how much we have in common with these primates such as the playing around, climbing all over you, playing hide and seek wanting to be carried, so much worth learning about chimps. Board your boat back to the mainland at Entebbe then back to Kampala. This marks the end of the trip. End of the tourTRIP INCLUDES
